Horticultural Labour Role.
We have all year-round production so there is always work to be done on the farm.
We are always looking for hard working people. The majority of our staff work are on a casual arrangement however we ask all staff for a minimum commitment of 6 months due to the time and resources it takes to train and set up new employees, and that you make yourself available 5 days/week (Monday to Friday).
Training
When you start on the farm, you will go through a trial and training period, during this time you will be given an induction to the workings of the farm and your employment paperwork.
Pay
We pay in accordance with the Horticulture Award on a fortnightly basis plus superannuation. If you are in the pick team, you will have to opportunity to earn more through a discretionary bonus system once you pick up the skills/knowledge and become more efficient on the job.
Hours
We can offer full time hours, from when the sun rises until the work is done, Monday to Friday (some Saturdays and public holidays, we don’t work Sundays).
Please note, we require all staff to be onsite and ready to start work 5mins prior to their scheduled start time.
Work Attire
You will need clothes that you don’t mind getting (very) dirty and you must always wear suitable footwear. It is advisable that both your pants and shoes cover your ankles to prevent the amount of dirt getting inside your shoes. We loan each employee with some wet weather gear (rain jacket and pants) and a pair of secateurs. All of which must be returned at the end of your employment.
You will need to have your own high visiabiliy shirts, gumboots (~$30 at Bunnings) for wet days, and it is recommended to bring a hat, sunscreen and large drink bottle for hot days.
Location
We are located in the NSW Northern Rivers just 5 mins outside a town called Alstonville. Our address is 368 Wardell Road, Lynwood. You will need reliable transport! There is no public transport available. Parking is available onsite for all staff. Again, please arrive with plenty of time before your scheduled shift to ensure you are ready to start with the rest of the team.
Zero Tolerance Policy
Finally, we have a zero tolerance policy, which means, if you are found to be wasting time, not following instructions or a late/no show – you will be terminated immediately with no notice.
